Country Drives

Ain't nothing I missed more than these county drives.
With you by my side, watching the hills roll by
and I, well I've been gone far too long and I ( Ohh ohh)
I've been wasting all, all my precious time, but now
I am home x4
Ain't nothing I missed more than this prairie life.
Lay down by my side, and watch the clouds roll by
and I, well l've been gone far too long and I ( Ohh ohh)
I've been wasting all, all my precious time, but now
I am home x4
Ain't nothing I missed more than these Northern nights.
The fire in your eyes, keeping us warm at night
and I, well l've been gone far too long and I ( Ohh ohh)
I've been wasting all, all my precious time, but now
I am home x16

Alone

With a compass in your breast, was sworn to lead to gold.
As pure, as sure as daylight. Never been bought or sold.
This light is given freely, to each one, young and old.
If you choose to seek it, you may find it here at home.
You are never alone x4
If you keep her faith, I promise to keep mine. To see the light within one, is in all of human kind. When you lay your head down, gently here to rest, and the darkness gathers round you, remember what I said.
You are never alone x4
I know you pray for sunlight each and everyday but we couldn't grow her garden without a little rain. We are all connected, no matter where you roam, through skies and depths and oceans, forests and open roads.
You are never alone x4

Undone

She's come undone, singing out from a spiral horizon.
Good baby close your eyes, mama knows that tonight is gonna be like nothing you've ever seen. She's gonna float like a dream.
And she said, well, Im leaving at dawn. Tip jars full, still got her apron on and, Sunday morning came too soon. I forgot how much it hurts to lose you. When theres no more short term goals, and even inside its cold, where do you go?
There's just, well, one pay phone in this town. Post card says that "I won't let you down"
She's praying that its true, almost lost her god, trying to lose you.
Out on that desert stretch, sleep comes easy but dreams can take a rest.

Waves

He went far afield to the lost coast to find his love, and although he'd never met her his heart told him that she the was the one.
He had seen her in his dreams, felt her kiss on a warm nights wind.
They would come together as only true love can.
Cause we're all born with hearts so hungry, there ain't much you wouldn't do for love. If you feel like you're drowning, its just a wave thats gonna bring you up. (Ohh Ohh Ohh)
Well he searched the foreign beaches and biked the old coast roads, but as the seasons changed, like the weather, his heart grew cold.
As time passed his mind did wander and each day became the same. Until the fire in his heart burned down to just a single flame.
Cause we're all born with hearts so hungry, there ain't much you wouldn't do for love. If you feel like you're drowning, its just a wave thats gonna bring you up. (Ohh Ohh Ohh)
Well years passed and a storm hit like you've never seen.
Yeah the island was ablaze, the only option was to go to sea.
The wind and waves collided and threw him overboard, and in his final moments, he thought of her.
Cause we're all born with hearts so hungry, there ain't much you wouldn't do for love. If you feel like you're drowning, its just a wave thats gonna bring you up. (Ohh Ohh Ohh)
Well he awoke with a calm and a fire burning in his heart.
On the sands of a beach he'd never seen before.
He looked up to see her, with tears in her eyes, she said "I always knew you'd find me, when the time was right."
Cause we're all born with hearts so hungry, there ain't much you wouldn't do for love. If you feel like you're drowning, its just a wave thats gonna bring you up.
Cause we're all born with hearts so hungry, there ain't much you wouldn't do for love. If you feel like you're drowning, its just a wave thats gonna bring you up. (Ohh Ohh Ohh)

Wayside
03:08
|
|||
Way down where the wind is warm and the grass is green, as I sing this song, by the wayside. Oh baby, by the wayside.
I'm gonna see my baby, when I catch a ride off the wayside.
Well now I'm kicking rocks down a country road. I gotta find a place where I can rest these bones, on the wayside. Oh baby, on the wayside.
You know my baby's smile is worth a thousand miles on the wayside.
You may not be where you want to be,
but you can always see what you want to see.
Well now the sun is shining down on me, I've got everything that I need, on the wayside. Oh baby, on the wayside.
I'm floating on the breeze, feeling wild and free, on the wayside.
I'm floating on the breeze, feeling wild and free, on the wayside.
